March 13, 2017 by Staff News Writer

Ministry of Public Security

On Sunday afternoon, the Public Force and the Municipal Police of San José found nearly 6 kilos of compressed marijuana and 20 doses of ecstasy.

The discovery happened in two buses inside a terminal in downtown San José.

The buses came from Limón and were approached by the officers, who make constant revisions in the stations to avoid drug trafficking.

With the support of a canine officer, the authorities found a bag with more than 5 kilos of marijuana compressed in 5 packages wrapped in plastic, and a bottle with 20 doses of ecstasy.

The canine officer also detected 375 grams of marijuana in another bus unit, but the police was unable to locate the owner of the bag.

The operations in bus terminals are part of the planned and strategic actions conducted by the Public Force in coordination with the Municipal Police of San José to fight drug trafficking.
