Public Force officers saved a woman from a machete attack

Last night, officers of the Public Force of El Roble, Puntarenas saved a woman who was about to be attacked by a man with a machete.

The incident was reported on the public highway, near a site where the authorities carried out patrols.

According to police reports, officers were alerted that a man armed with a machete threatened to kill a woman.

Upon arriving at the site, the agents found the suspect, surnamed Ponce, whom they disarmed to avoid a tragedy. The victim, surnamed Aguirre, was immediately assisted and suffered no injury.

Ponce, who had a 62-centimeter long machete was handcuffed and referred to the Office of Public Prosecution.
