Each institution will evaluate the possibility of continuing with teleworking

March 29, 2017 by Staff News Writer

In January, thanks to an Executive Decree, teleworking for employees from the public sector was accepted as a palliative measure due to the closure of La Platina bridge.

Last week, the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MOPT) enabled the passage in the 3 new lanes in Alajuela-San José direction and the 6 lanes should be ready by April 30th.

According to the press office of the Ministry of Labor, the validity of the decree will continue despite the opening of the 3 new lanes. However, once the work is completed, each institution will evaluate whether or not to continue with this option.

The most recent report from the Ministry of Labor reveals that 1,574 public sector officials accepted the measure. The ICE leads the list with 364 workers, followed by the MEP with 151 and the CCSS with 130.
