CONACOOP sued the Governing Council

March 30, 2017 by Staff News Writer

Last week, the National Council of Cooperatives (CONACOOP) sued the Governing Council for INFOCOOP’s decision of removing 4 managers named by the plaintiff.

On Tuesday, the Public Ministry carried out several raids and detained six people for alleged financial irregularities. One of the detainees is Freddy González, secretary of Conacoop.

This situation does not stop the administrative contentious process. However, the Presidential House is not worried, because an appeal for protection on the subject was rejected by the Constitutional Chamber and because they trust that the decisions they have made are in accordance with the law.

The Attorney General’s Office will be in charge of defending the actions of the State.
