Presidential candidate Antonio Álvarez Desanti is under investigation

April 5, 2017 by Staff News Writer

The Ethics Court of Partido de Liberación NAcional (PLN) is investigating presidential candidate Antonio Álvarez Desanti because a militant denounced him for affecting the image of the political group.

The complainant, named Glen González, requested that Álvarez is expelled from the party. In addition, he suggested that the Executive Committee and the Internal Electoral Court should not rule on the candidate’s election until they resolve that complaint.

The claim is that, since 2004, Álvarez’ actions have caused severe damage to the image of PLN, mainly because he has accused the internal structures of fraud and corruption.

The presidential candidate said that he did not know anything about the complaint, but that he relies on the process that the Ethics Court does so he will accept it.
