Medical certificates will be completely digital

April 18, 2017 by Staff News Writer

Each time patients go to a medical examination in private institutions, they receive their medical certificate that shows the person’s health. However, as of this month, the procedure will vary, because the document will be completely digital.

This change is due to a project promoted by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Costa Rica, which aims to digitize health care services.

With the implementation of the digital medical document, we will have a greater control of the medical diagnosis and we will have more accurate, truthful and real-time data, which will benefit patients and the national medical staff,

said Andrés Castillo, president of the College.
