50 young people will make proposals to solve Costa Rica’s problems

On Monday, 50 young people will be challenged to find possible solutions to the problems facing the country.

The activity will take place within the framework of the Hackathon, which will start on May 29th at the Crea + facility in the Children’s Museum. It will last 48 continuous hours.

The idea is that 10 groups, of five members each, try to innovate on some topics such as:

Selection and collection of waste
Access to higher and technical education
Obesity rate
Traffic Accidents

The jury will have to name the first and second place, and the best solution of the categories, according to the proposals presented by the Costa Rican students.

The awards ceremony will take place on Saturday, June 3rd at 10:00 am in the framework of the Digital Village -Children’s Museum to be held from June 2nd to 4th. The latter includes workshops and informative talks, as well as entertainment areas.

These activities aim to promote the knowledge and productive use of technology in young people.

The jury is composed by Mónica Hidalgo, director of Reto País, Tomás De Camino, director of the Costa Rica Foundation for Innovation, Ingrid Marín, master in education, Luis Umaña, coordinator of Educational Support of the Children’s Museum and winner of Yo Creo 2015, and Óscar Chacón, manager of Claro Corporativo.
