Blow to drug traffickers with tentacles throughout San José

In an investigation carried out on Tuesday in different parts of San José, agents of the Police of Control of Drugs (PCD) of the Ministry of Public Security seized large amounts of drugs, firearms, ammunition and vehicles from members of a criminal structure that was already dismantled.

In the police action, Drug Control officials seized:
-12 kilograms and 12 doses of cocaine
-25 kilograms, 190 grams and 835 doses of marijuana
-21 doses of ecstasy
-24 doses of LSD
-1,542,755 colones
-168 dollars.
– two firearms
– 94 ammunition
– three chargers
– two vehicles

This cell of local organized crime had its own sales and “ruled” in Guadeloupe, Purral, Ipis, Mozotal and Coronado. In addition, the group distributed to smaller structures in Pavas, Curridabat and Escazú, belonging to the province of San José.

Public security authorities said they captured seven people during the raids.

In previous investigations, 17 individuals were arrested as suspected drug traffickers. They have a history of drug possession, violence against women, aggravated robbery, attempted murder and other crimes.
