Costa Rica condemns brutal terrorist attack in Barcelona

August 17, 2017 by Staff News Writer

After the terrorist attack that left more than a dozen deaths in Barcelona, the government of Costa Rica expressed its repudiation to the tragic event that occurred on Thursday afternoon in that Spanish city.

Apparently, two subjects trampled over twenty pedestrians that were walking on La Rambla, one of the most popular tourist spots in that city.

The people and Government of Costa Rica express their condemnation and most absolute repudiation of the brutal terrorist attack in Barcelona. This despicable act of disrespect for human life has no justification,”

said President Solís.

According to reports from the European press, an individual identified as Driss Oukabir rented the van used in the attack in a community identified as Santa Perpetua de la Mogada, about 18 kilometers from Barcelona.

The police authorities asked the inhabitants of Barcelona to avoid leaving their shelters. In addition, they urged to comply with all security warnings that would be issued.
