U.S. to deport Costa Rican who claimed “the devil” assaulted him

August 21, 2017 by Staff News Writer

The Costa Rican man who was arrested in the United States for pretending to be a victim of theft of $800 and saying the devil did it will be expelled from that country in the next few days.

The man is identified as Muñoz Castillo and has an international arrest warrant from Interpol for sexual offenses committed more than 10 years ago in Costa Rica.

Muñoz Castillo, 50, was arrested on July 27th in Madison, New Jersey. He lived in Morristown, a community near Madison. Apparently, he has been in that country for more than a decade.

After an arduous police investigation to verify that the robbery never happened, Muñoz said that

he had visions and that ‘the devil’ assaulted inside a tunnel.”

Local authorities discovered the subject’s background when they were investigating him for the crime of filing a false police report.
