Police who ran over dogs was arrested in Guácimo

An officer of the Guácimo Public Force in Limón was arrested, after his partner filed a complaint to the Public Prosecutor’s Office for running over several dogs during the exercise of his duties.

According to Edwin Miranda, regional director of the Public Force, the incident occurred on the Saturday night when the official made the respective complaint to the authorities, who ordered an immediate review of the place where the abuses were carried out.

Apparently two dogs died due to the impact of the patrol.

The policeman surnamed Arias was doing patrolling Rio Jimenez sector with his partner when he committed the crimes.

Law 7451 of Animal Welfare Act punishes with three months to two years of imprisonment to anyone who causes the death of a domestic or domesticated animal on purpose.
