Agreement to benefit entrepreneurial senior citizens

The Ministry of Labor and Social Security and the Municipality of Cartago signed the Framework Convention on Inter-institutional Cooperation on October 2nd. This was done with the aim of implementing the program for the care of the senior population in promotion and entrepreneurship processes in the central canton of Cartago.

This program seeks to provide accompaniment and follow-up groups of senior citizens who are developing a venture, in order to acquire knowledge and skills on productive projects.

In addition, it will foster the creation of a local network of senior entrepreneurs where support and guidance in productive projects are provided.

The agreement signed by Minister Alfredo Hasbum Camacho and the Mayor of Cartago, Rolando Rodríguez Brenes, refers a cooperation and coordination between the Municipality of Cartago and the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, in addition to establishing the commitments in logistics and instruction on specific topics about the elderly.

The inter-institutional agreement was made through the joint coordination between the Municipality of Cartago and the Department of Recreation, Promotion and Social Assistance to the Worker of the National Social Security Directorate of MTSS, which will be in charge of the implementation process of the agreement during the five years of duration established that can be extended for equal periods automatically.
