New case of abused dog in San Carlos

Once again, a new case of animal abuse shocks the country. A dog that was brutally beaten on Tuesday, apparently by several teenagers with a club in San Carlos. The perpetrators took advantage of the fact that the owner of the animal was not at home and committed the crime.

Kattya Ulate, who works as a rescuer in the Venetian Animal Shelter of San Carlos, published the case and also indicated that they submitted the corresponding complaint to the Office of the Prosecutor.

The French Poodle breed has serious lesions on its snout and is being treated at a veterinary clinic in the area.

The Law against animal abuse approved last June sanctions this acts with:

-Three months to years of prison for those who cause the death of a domestic or domesticated animal.
-From a quarter to a half base salary for who those who won’t collecting fecal waste from their pets left in public places.
-Three months to a year of prison for those who organize, encourage or execute animal fights.
-Fourth to half-salary fine for those who train animals for fights or violate the provisions on experimentation.
-A fine of 20 to 50 days (or its equivalent in prison) will be imposed on anyone who leaves domestic animals on their own or engages in acts of animal abuse (unjustified injuries).
