Executive insists on fiscal issue during meeting of Supreme Powers

The traditional meeting between the presidents of the Supreme Powers was held on Wednesday, this time without the heads of the Executive, Judicial and the Supreme Electoral Tribunal.

The meeting covered several topics and once again the fiscal situation was on the table, as well as the need for Costa Rica to approve new tax projects to tackle the deficit.

This was explained Helio Fallas, president ai of the Republic and Minister of Finance, making it clear that the government will continue to insist on the issue in the Assembly.

The president of the Legislative Assembly, Gonzalo Ramírez; Helio Fallas, president ai of the Republic, as well as the president of the Supreme Court, Carmen María Escoto, and Erick Guzmán, Secretary General of the TSE on behalf of Luis Antonio Sobrado, participated in the meeting.

Last week, the Deputy Minister of the Presidency, Luis Paulino Mora, said that the new text was almost ready to deliver to the legislators, prior to calling it in the extraordinary sessions that start in December.
