Heavy rains cause floods in Guanacaste

The National Emergency Commission (CNE) reports about 10 incidents as a result of heavy downpours on Wednesday in different parts of the country, mainly in Guanacaste.

According to Sigifredo Pérez, Chief of Operations of the CNE, during the night and early morning incidents occurred in Grecia, Puriscal, Parrita, Guatuso, and in the south zone, specifically in the canton of Golfito, there were five accidents related to saturation of sewerage systems.

Some places in Guanacaste were severely affected, such as Santa Cruz, Tilarán, Bagaces and Cuajiniquil.

The CNE reported that the Professional Technical College 27 de Abril in Santa Cruz was severely affected by the heavy rains, while in Río Chombo in Soley de Cuajiniquil the lessons had to be suspended.
