Antonio Álvarez’s star proposal is an electric train

January 15, 2018 by Staff News Writer

On Monday, the presidential candidate of the National Liberation Party (PLN), Antonio Álvarez Desanti, said through a press conference that the metropolitan electric train would be his first project.

The liberationist proposal would begin with the development of the plan in its original conception of Paraíso and Ciruelas; in Heredia and Alajuela and, in a second stage, the connection between the sectors of Desamparados and the southern cantons.

According to Desanti, an urban train is necessary to reduce obstacles with the road network.

We are going to look for mechanisms that allow greater speed and greater efficiency,”

were the words of the PLN candidate.

In addition to solving the problem of the mobilization in the Greater Metropolitan Area (GAM), Álvarez affirmed that the electric train improves the public transport service of the country.

The current train transports 2% of what we would transport with our proposal,”

said the candidate.

Transparency in the procurement and bidding processes was another of Antonio Álvarez’s promises.
