January 18, 2018 by Staff News Writer

The Fire Prevention and Investigation personnel of the Fire Department, delivered the results of the investigation on the fire that occurred on Wednesday in Santa Rosa de Santo Domingo de Heredia.

According to the agency’s press department, the cause of the dire that consumed two warehouses was the cutting work that was carried out in the back of the coolant and metals recycling workshop.

The sparks generated by the cutting machines reached combustible material and that’s how the fire started,”

said the entity.

Two drones of the Technology Unit offered a complete panorama of the situation faced by 70 firefighters in real time. Other technological elements that helped fight this fire were the use of hand-held thermal cameras and others installed in the firemen’s helmets, which allowed to make the work more expeditious.
