The Progressive Liberal party faces its first national elections without a presidential candidate, but with the intention of reaching the Legislative Assembly to start sowing the seeds that will make them flourish in the Costa Rican political arena.
Marta Blanco is the candidate in the first place for San José. She assures that the movement has been growing and hopes to achieve the seat on February 4th.
What we want is to plant that seed for the Liberal Progressive Party to become an option for the elections of 2022,”
said Blanco, who knows that if they get to Congress, they will fight for the ideals of the party, but they will seek to be a consensus fraction.
It is clear that if we are a small fraction, we cannot make decisions alone, but we have a great advantage being a new party: we do not owe anyone favors,”
said Blanco.
The politician will fight for one of the 19 places awarded for San José. She is optimistic with the possibility of achieving the necessary votes to reach Cuesta de Moras and be a party watchful of what happens in the country with the Executive Power.
Entrepreneur Eduardo Brenes Jiménez is in the second place for San José, and for the third place, they have economist Catalina Phillips Campos.
The Progressive Liberal party has candidates for legislators in San José, Alajuela, Heredia and Puntarenas.
