OIJ caught Los Gabinos, one of the most violent gangs in Alajuela

Four people were arrested on Tuesday morning, suspected of belonging to Los Gabinos, one of the most violent organizations in Alajuela, according to Eduardo Fallas, deputy head of the Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ) of Alajuela.

According to the official, due to the drug expansion, this group threatens its rivals with firearms. Los Gabinos are attributed a homicide and several attempts of homicide.

Los Gabinos have been working in Alajuela for a long time. It is a very dangerous gang; they fire guns recklessly in inhabited areas. They are toxic in every aspect,”

said Fallas.

The suspects are named Núñez Núñez, Barrientos Campos, Cárdenas Espinoza, and a woman named Núñez Rojas. They all have a record for aggravated robbery, attempted and use of firearms.

The authorities explained that this gang distributes marijuana and cocaine in the province of Alajuela. The judicial authorities will file charges for a homicide that occurred on December 13th in La Cañada in San Antonio de Alajuela.

Six raids were carried out in the sector of Trópico 2, San Rafael and Coyol. The OIJ seized four weapons.
