AyA warns that officials do not visit homes without being called

May 11, 2018 by Staff News Writer

The Institute of Aqueducts and Sewers (AyA) warned the population that its officials do not visit homes as part of their routine and only perform work inside the buildings and private buildings with properly identified staff with prior notification and coordination by AyA.

All our employees are identified with the card and their respective photograph, in addition, the vehicles they use are labeled with the logo and official plate,”

said the state company in a statement.

This week, a man identified as an AyA official tried to enter a house in Tibás, which is why they are issuing this warning. The Institute made an internal inquiry in which it determined that the man who appears in the video is not an official. Therefore, it was made available to the Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ) to assist in the investigation.

Rodolfo Lizano, legal director of the entity, clarified that the Institute has not suffered any theft of uniforms in the stores, as people say in social networks.

For inquiries, reports or complaints, use the following platforms: www.aya.go.cr, Facebook: Costa Rican Institute of Aqueducts and Sewers AYA, the app: AyA Services and the number of customer service: 800-7376783
