Cartago will vibrate with Festival of Visual Arts

The first edition of a Festival of Visual Arts will fill Cartago with paintings, sculptures, drawings and photographs.

The event will be held next Friday and Saturday at Casa de la Ciudad. As explained by the organization, the first day will be dedicated to the genres of painting and sculpture with live artistic creations, scheduled tours and workshops. In addition, the space “Asking the Artist” will be conducted by artist Fernando Carballo.

For Saturday activities will be dedicated to drawing and photographic creation, with workshops, contests, talks and products for visual arts.

There will also be a tour of galleries of visual exhibitions in downtown Cartago, where you will be able to visit the galleries of the Cartago Municipal Museum, the Culture Center, the Free Art Exhibition of the University College of Cartago (CUC), and the House of the City with the activities of the festival.

The Festival of Visual Arts 2018 will have the participation of artists like:

The Circle of Emerging Artists
The Painters in the Open Air of Costa Rica (PINTAL CR)
The Costa Rican Association of Visual Artists (ACAV)
The National Association of Sculptors of Costa Rica (ANESCO)
The Charter Group
The Hikari Group
Leda Astorga (Aquileo J. Echeverría National Prize in Sculpture)
Fernando Carballo (Aquileo J. Echeverría National Prize in Drawing and Painting)
Luis Demetrio Calvo “Mecho” (International awards in “Cartoon Rendón” of Colombia, “Popular Jury” of Brazil, mentions of honor in Cuba and in Mexico).

All the activities of this festival are free.
