President Alvarado did not veto controversial Law of Restorative Justice

President Carlos Alvarado, did not veto the controversial Law of Restorative Justice and instead he passed it.

The Executive Power indicated that it shares the concerns of the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic, of the Office of Attention and Protection of the Victim of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, and non-governmental organizations, and for this reason he called on legislators to address the considerations expressed by these institutions

so that they are duly assessed and the errors detected be corrected by the legislators, the Public Ministry and the Inamu,”

said Casa Presidencial in a statement.

Let’s give an opportunity for dialogue between the Powers of the Republic to overcome the aspects that should be improved in this important legislation and ensure the public interest with the successful application of Restorative Justice,”

said Alvarado.
