German tourist is assaulted in the heart of San José

August 15, 2018 by Staff News Writer

A German tourist was assaulted on Wednesday afternoon in downtown San José.

The European claimed that a subject snatched belongings and ran in the vicinity of the Metropolitan Cathedral.

According to statements made by the German woman to the television station, she knew about the recent murder of two women and believes Costa Rica is not a safe country.

This case joins the murder of a Spanish tourist and a Mexican tourist in Tortuguero and Cóbano, respectively, as well as the assault on Spanish tourists in Rincón de la Vieja, and the rape of an American visitor in Tortuguero.
