Drug trafficker wanted in the US was caught in Costa Rica

A man with an international arrest warrant for drug trafficking was captured on Wednesday when leaving a well-known restaurant located near La Sabana in San José.

The subject was identified as a Nicaraguan national named Pereira Ramos, who is wanted by the police authorities of the United States.

The arrest was made by agents of the International Criminal Police (Interpol) San José unit after 3:30 pm. The man was leaving the restaurant when he was arrested in Mata Redonda.

The Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ) indicated that the subject had a record in the country for drug trafficking.
