Judge determines the strike is illegal in the INS too

October 8, 2018 by Staff News Writer

The Labor Court of the III Judicial Circuit of Alajuela determined that the strike to which some officials of the National Insurance Institute (INS) joined since September 10th is illegal.

The strike call was made by the Staff Union of the National Insurance Institute (UPINS), which was sentenced to pay one million colones for procedural costs.

Judge César Delgado asked to notify the parties of this resolution as well as the Statistics Office of the Ministry of Labor and gives three days to receive appeals for the ruling.

There are already 15 entities where the strike has been declared illegal. Only the Institute of Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (IAFA) and the Costa Rican Institute of Aqueducts and Sewers (AyA) have received the opposite verdict.
