Treasury: “2019 is not going to be easy”

January 16, 2019 by Staff News Writer

Deputy Minister of Finance Nogui Acosta said that

People have to understand that 2019 is not going to be easy just because we approved the tax reform. It’s going to be an adjustment period.”

During the January 16th edition of the TV show Enfoques, the deputy minister explained some of the results – positive and negative – of the Law for Strengthening Public Finances, which was approved on December 3rd in order to face the fiscal crisis that hits the country.

According to Acosta, the first six months will be very important, because the generation of income for the Government -from what is established in the tax reform- starts in July.

There is a major challenge in this first semester, not only to finance our expenses, but also on how the economy is going to grow effectively,”

said Acosta.
