Former legislator files appeal against ethanol project

April 8, 2019 by Staff News Writer

Natalia Díaz, former legislator of the Libertarian Movement, filed a writ of amparo on Sunday night against the ethanol project.

I have just filed a writ of amparo against RECOPE, where I request the suspension of distribution and sale of the ethanol mixture as fuel, for its arbitrary imposition on us to use it,”

confirmed Díaz via Twitter.

The legal measure was taken on the same weekend that the liberationist Roberto Thompson announced that he will propose a motion for RECOPE leaders to speak before the Legislative Assembly and explain the ethanol issue.

The government wants the product to be marketed in a percentage of gasoline plus by May, however, doubts persist, such as the damage it may cause to the vehicles, as well as the purchase and importation of the component.
