Government promotes national recycling plan

May 18, 2016 by Staff News Writer

The government will promote a national recycling plan that will prioritize the separation and recovery of waste, by which 15% of the 4,000 tons of daily waste will be treated.

The plan aims to promote waste sorting in containers or bags of colors, with green being for organic waste, blue for plastics, yellow for aluminum, gray for paper and cardboard, red for infectious and biological waste, and orange for glass.

Organic waste will be collected two days a week, whereas the rest will be collected once a month.
