Second Avenue “flooded” with workers on Wednesday

May 1, 2019 by Staff News Writer

As is tradition every May 1st, national unions participate in the march of workers.

This movement began in Parque de la Merced and the protesters walked on Second Avenue towards the way to the Legislative Assembly.

The different union groups marched for the rights of public workers.

The Public Employment Law, as well as the law that seeks to regulate strikes are part of the main demands and opposition presented by the unions.

In the midst of peaceful protest through the streets of downtown San José, hundreds of people experience the Workers’ Day as usual, walking to be heard and felt.
