Authorities issued green alert throughout the national territory

July 17, 2019 by Staff News Writer

The National Commission of Emergencies (CNE) declared a green alert throughout the national territory, due to the passage of the tropical wave number 15.

We have had a condition of quite a lot of rain and for the passage of Tropical Wave 15 is foreseen. Due to this condition, we have established a green alert in a preventive manner that allows us to be prepared for any emergency situation that may arise,”

said Alexander Solis, president of the entity.

Those who live in risk areas are asked to be cautious and alert in case of any incident.

The heavy rains that have prevailed in the last hours left floods in several cantons of the country, especially in Alajuela, Heredia and Cartago.
