Unions announce that strike will last until the weekend

The health sector unions announced 72 more hours of strike as of this Wednesday at 6:00 am. So, the protests in the medical centers of the country will run until next Saturday at 6:00 am.

In addition, on Thursday, August 8th, they will make a demonstration on the street, they will leave from La Merced Park to the headquarters of the Costa Rican Social Security Fund (CCSS).

The representatives of the 17 unions in the sector demand that the agreements signed by the parties in February be respected, where they ask that the fiscal rule isn’t applied, wage payment every 14 days, no frozen positions, that the State pays the debts with the health institution and the CCSS is not privatized.
