Dollar price continues to fall

August 20, 2019 by Staff News Writer

The exchange rate continues to fall in Monex wholesale market. This Monday the session ended at ¢566.6 per dollar, down to a level that had not been seen since July 2018.

This is a respite for debtors in that currency, because they will pay less for their credits.

The main reason behind this reduction is that there is not enough demand for this currency.

This situation is the opposite to what was experienced a year ago, when the tax reform began to be discussed, the exchange rate began to rise until it reached ¢628; people began to take refuge in the dollar at the risk of an economic crisis.

However, this year the trend has been the opposite and little by little consumers are losing their appetite for the US currency.

From January to today, the price of the dollar has dropped practically ¢43.

On the other hand, if you need to buy dollars at the moment in windows the average price is ¢ 572.
