Fourth day of strike: 16 thousand teachers away from the classroom

September 6, 2019 by Staff News Writer

The fourth day of strike in the education sector continues to add red numbers for the education system. While teachers demonstrate against the bill that aims to regulate strikes, hundreds of students are left without lessons.

According to the report of the Ministry of Public Education (MEP) for Thursday, 16,146 teachers did not show up to work.

In addition, 1,615 schools kept their doors closed, which implies a significant loss of content that must be preprogrammed promptly.

As for the food service, 132 affected student cafeterias were registered.
