Albino Vargas calls to block roads and go on a great national strike

September 10, 2019 by Staff News Writer

Albino Vargas, secretary general of the National Association of Public Employees (ANEP), called for the different trade union movements in the country to rise soon in a “great national strike.”

According to the union leader, a national strike of between 24 and 48 hours must be proposed, with blockages on the main national routes, in order to pressure the government to respond to their requests.

We have to close borders, we have to close routes 27 and 32, and Ochomogo, until we force those who do not won’t sit at the table with us,”

said Vargas.

The unionist gave these remarks on Monday afternoon during a meeting of the Multisectoral Social Meeting, which was convened to discuss different issues that concern the social sectors.

Likewise, the leader, who has been in ANEP for 30 years, asked for the support of municipal workers and even of Public Force officers.
