University students on blockades: “It is a direct message to the Assembly”

November 21, 2019 by Staff News Writer

A group of students from the National University (UNA) grouped under the October 17th Assembly movement, ensures that the mobilization and blockades initiated since Wednesday correspond to a “direct message” for the Legislative Assembly.

Taking into account that on Thursday, November 21st, the vote would be taking place in the Legislative Assembly in the second reading to make the budget cuts, we send a direct message to the Legislative Assembly that the movement will be indefinite and permanent until these cuts are reversed,”

said the group through a statement.

At about 1pm on Wednesday, university students blocked the passage on 9th street with tires, bags and even tents. Public Force officers had to intervene in the early morning hours because the students refused to end the blockades.
