Campaign to prevent dengue epemic to begin in January

Ministry of Health has admitted that it must work harder in 2014 to prevent a dengue epidemic that infected 50,000 people this year due and accelerated out of control due to late action. Ileana Herrera, Director General of Health, has stated the country has already surpassed the epidemic phase and that Dengue is now endemic channel in Costa Rica. Three of the four known serotypes are circulating in the country, which increases the risk of serious illness after a victim suffers multiple infections.
