June 2, 2016 by Staff News Writer

The congress unanimously invalidated obstacles imposed by legislator Ligia Fallas on the operation of the three committees with legislative authority.

With 41 votes in favor, the congress rejected 10 motions filed by Fallas to cripple all projects by passed on by the plenary to these parliamentary bodies.

Afterwards, the three commissions returned to work on June, 1st to process uncontroversial projects, most with a municipal line and others related to the use of technology in government procurement and education.

All parliamentary groups, except for Frente Amplio, presented an amendment to the Rules of the Legislature that would restrict the misuse of certiorari orders by a single legislator. The proposal aims to ask for the signature of at least 10 legislators in order to use certiorari orders.
