Web platform allows to monitor carbon footprint

June 14, 2016 by Staff News Writer

GreenCloud is a project aiming to help organizations achieve carbon neutrality, with the help of a web platform that will allow companies to register, measure and monitor their carbon footprint.

This is one of the business ventures being developed at the Agency for the Entrepreneurship Management (AUGE) of the University of Costa Rica (UCR). It was presented last week with 9 other projects seeking strategic alliances.

Juan de Oliva, founder of the platform, said 10 people are currently working on the project, and explained he wanted to undertake a project focused on providing technical support to organizations that want to implement the process of carbon neutrality. He soon realized companies have difficulties with this process.

Therefore, he decided to create a platform to build and manage automated environmental indicators, such as resource consumption, emissions, land conservation and water footprint.

The company is currently offering its services worldwide.
