Better situation for livestock production

June 20, 2016 by Staff News Writer

Rainy season has come and it has filled Guanacaste and San Carlos livestock production with joy because before it, millions on losses were reported due to the drought as a result of El Niño.

According to the executive director of CORFOGA (National Livestock Corporation), Luis Diego Obando, they happily hope that rainfalls remain as normal as usual.

“The aid related to government supplies delivery such as molasses, minerals and hay bales continues to arrive and they are distributed to producers in different parts of the country. We can assume that it will help the ones that need it the most, “

said Obando.

In June and July, authorities of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock will deliver supplies to Carrillo, Liberia, La Cruz, Santa Cruz, Nicoya and Nandayure. This measure will benefit near 4,000 producers. Furthermore, by the end of the month, sugar will be delivered to beekeepers.
