Teacher’s demonstrations during vacation season

June 29, 2016 by Staff News Writer

Vacation season is coming but education union called upon demonstrations.

Asociación de Profesores de Segunda Enseñanza (APSE) general secretary, Hugo Marín, said that demonstrations are going to be regular and they will protest even during vacation.

We are organizing demonstrations before and during vacation season. We need to be active, especially during legislators’ session week because it’s a very dangerous period. Teachers will be on vacation, people will leave the city and anything can happen,

stated Marín.

However, why don’t they protest only during vacation time so that students don’t miss classes?

Marín said that Costa Ricans must understand that projects that affect public servants will have an effect on them.

Parents must understand that whatever happens in our society will be related to our health or our state education. Community is benefiting from the services we are offering and those services have a huge impact on people’s lives.
