On July, 25th workers must receive double payment

July 25, 2016 by Staff News Writer

According to Article 148 of the Labour Code, July, 25th is a mandatory payment holiday, since the Annexation of Nicoya’s party is celebrated that day. Therefore, those who work this day must receive double payment.

This applies for all companies with weekly, monthly or biweekly payment and for extra hours as well.

According to this regulation, the company must grant this holiday regardless of its national, transnational or international status, and no employee is required to work this day unless they agree to. An employee who refuses to work that day cannot be penalized.
