July 28, 2016 by Staff News Writer

The Costa Rican Railway Institute (INCOFER) will enable trains from August 1st at night to August 2nd at noon, so that, people participating in the Romería to Cártago can return without any problem. The service will remain stable from 7:30 pm until August 2nd, Virgen de los ángeles’ day.

Carlos Villalta, Transport minister, stated that every 30 minutes, two trains from San José and Cártago and viceversa will be available to meet the demand.

Train will stop in Colegio Federado de Ingenieros y Arquitectos in Curridabat and Universidad Latina, and Atlántico station. Conversely, the train will not stop until it gets to Cártago’s municipal market. This is due to security reasons.

This trip will cost 500 colones as normal.

The Ministry calls on people not to walk on the railroad tracks on their way to Cártago, as they have observed in several occasions.
