Bar Association has to evict part of its property in Zapote

August 26, 2016 by Staff News Writer

The Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MOPT) informed that the Bar Association has to evict part of its property located in Zapote.

According to Vinicio Barboza, head of the Department of Inspection and Demolitions from the MOPT, the eviction resolution responds to the construction project of North Beltway that crosses Calle Blancos, Tibás and La Uruca.

The Bar must put at the State’s disposal 1,022 square meters, which include a soccer field and the water well that supplies the facility.

According to the resolution, the Bar has 15 days to do so.

The Bar Association requested the Dispute Tribunal to stop the process because the MOPT cannot take possession of that territory. They are planning to start a process against the measure to recover the expropriated land.

Road works would cost 147 million dollars and they are supposed to start this year.
