Campos Mendoza is related to other cases of child sexual abuse

August 30, 2016 by Staff News Writer

The suspect of murdering an 8-year-old child in Guácimo had an arrest warrant for another case of alleged sexual abuse of a minor.

According to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, Campos Mendoza, who is 23 years old, was investigated for child sexual abuse. The event occurred in 2014, according to the official report. He is also related to an attempt of sexual abuse in 2012. However, that case did not prosper.

Campos was arrested on Sunday as the main suspect of beheading and mutilating an 8-year-old child in El Eden.

Police suspects the incident occurred in the subject’s home, where there was blood and a knife was found.
