Judicial police: “an apprehension warrant against Campos Mendoza was not issued”

September 5, 2016 by Staff News Writer

According to the judicial police, contrary to what the Prosecution said, an apprehension warrant against Campos Mendoza, the main suspect of the murder of the 8-year-old child in Guácimo, was not issued. However, the Judicial Investigation Organization (OIJ) confirmed that in February they received a warrant to present Campos to judicial offices.

The young man is also the suspect of an alleged abuse attempt in 2012 and an apparent sexual abuse against a minor in 2014. For the latter, according to the prosecution, an arrest warrant was issued, but they failed to find him.

Just 2 months ago, the warrant to present Campos to judicial offices was reaffirmed.

The suspect is going to spend the next 6 months in preventive detention while he is being investigated for the alleged crime of murder.
