Gilberto Monge, Mayor of the Municipality of Mora said on Thursday that at least, no more incidents have been reported, but the municipal emergency committee and municipal authorities keep their eyes on the area.

Until now there are no reports of other situations. We are monitoring. We had problems with landslides in national and cantonal routes, but we already cleaned them and I think tomorrow we will see what happens,”

said Monge.

According to the mayor, they are studying the idea of demolishing the house of a neighboring family of Guayabo de Mora, Last Tuesday said family remained trapped in the house after a landslide.

Monge explained that they had been evicted once, but returned to the site, so they are now looking for alternative housing, with the help of the Joint Institute for Social Aid (IMAS).

About 2 weeks ago, 20 families were evicted from their homes in Quebrada Honda, after four hectares of hill Quitirrisí collapsed under heavy rains.
