23 medical specialists joint the CCSS

September 26, 2016 by Staff News Writer

Hospitals in rural areas of Costa Rica have 23 new medical specialists, who have joint the Costa Rica Social Security Fund (CCSS): there are dermatologists, surgeons, endocrinologists, cardiologists, orthopedists, among others.

They aim to solve problems at Nicoya, Turrialba, Perez Zeledón, Ciudad Neily and Liberia health centers, as well as those located in the Great Metropolitan Area.

THE CCSS convened 41 specialists to sign the contract, but only 23 of them did it, 14 of them rejected the proposal and 4 were absent.

María Eugenia Villalta, medical manager at the Fund, declared that these contracts will benefit people who live in distant areas, as well as to improve the quality of the medical care.
