For second consecutive year, the Supreme Electoral Court (TSE) will join the global campaign “Pink City” and it will illuminate its facade and the Electoral Freedom Square in San José with pink color.

With this initiative, the TSE aims to sensitize users and officials about the importance of the fight against cancer and its early detection.

As part of awareness campaigns, the electoral body will organize educational seminars for officials, some of whom will participate in the walk and race against cancer.

According to Costa Rican Social Security Fund, in Central America, Costa Rica has the first place in mortality and incidence of breast cancer, which is the second leading cause of death among the female population.

In November, the TSE will join the campaigns of male health selfcare, as well as prevention of violence against women. As consequence, it will illuminate its building with blue and orange lights.
