La Tenería bridge will be closed today

October 3, 2016 by Staff News Writer

Alajuela authorities announced the construction of La Tenería Bridge, located 800 meters north from Palmares Park. As consequence, vehicles and pedestrian crossing will be closed from October 3rd.

The works will last 182 days and they will provide a new bridge for the community. To do so, 148 million colones were invested.

La Tenería bridge was built in 1936 and it has become an important road for vehicles and pedestrians, since it is an alternate route to connect with the road to San Martín, La Ceiba, Itiquís, Tacacorí, San Isidro and Sabanilla de Alajuela and it is used to approach Poas Volcano area.

When completed, the community will have a two-road bridge with traffic on both tracks and two sidewalks.
