You can support FUNDESO in the fight against breast cancer!

October 3, 2016 by Staff News Writer

FUNDESO

FUNDESO

#RetoRosa is a campaign that will take place in October at Plaza Real Cariari to support the National Foundation on Solidarity against breast cancer (FUNDESO).

The Foundation requires funds to provide beds, mattresses, blankets and other necessities to the shelter, so cancer patients who live far from the capital and require a place to recover from chemotherapy or radiation therapy can stay and rest.

Several piggy banks are located in the mall to feed “Rosita”, as the animal was named. Among those who support the initiative, a 200-dollar purchase order will be raffled.

Every eyar, near 5,000 women are assisted in FUNDESO. They don’t pay anything and they receive the care and attention they need.

The institution also offers grants that include medical appointments and tests such as mammograms, ultrasounds and biopsies for those women who do not have the resources to pay for them.

In addition, women do not only receive economic assistance, they also receive words of support. These encouraging words come from women who have suffered from the disease: they motivate patients to overcome the difficulties when uncertainty, fear, rejection, shame and pain attack.

Coping with depression, anxiety, difficulty is much easier with the support of family, friends and people who have gone through the same situation.
